Marc Engel

Marc was appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2023. As CEO of Unilabs, Marc is responsible for leading one of the top 10 global providers of medical diagnostic services, offering a complete range that includes laboratory, pathology, genetics, pharma solutions and radiology to healthcare professionals worldwide, with a vision to help millions of people to power their health and maximise life.

Prior to joining Unilabs, Marc had a distinguished 30-year career with Unilever, a €60 billion business and one of the world’s largest and most geographically diverse consumer goods companies, serving 3.4 billion people every day. In 2016, he was appointed to the Unilever Executive Leadership Team as Chief Supply Chain Officer, where he led supply chain operations, including procurement, planning, and logistics. Under his leadership, the supply chain was transformed into a growth engine and sustainable operation, earning recognition from Gartner as the number one supply chain throughout his tenure.

Before his role as Chief Supply Chain Officer, Marc served as CEO for Unilever East Africa. In 2008, he was Unilever’s first Chief Procurement Officer, responsible for the worldwide procurement of third-party goods and services. He has worked in Singapore, the Netherlands, UK, Brazil, Switzerland, and Kenya.

Marc holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.

He is also the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at AP Moller Maersk, Supervisory Board Director at ACT Commodities, and Senior Advisor at Emitwise, McLaren Racing and Zero100.
